How to Fix Google Play Store Stuck at Waiting for Download Issue?

Play Store is only compatible with Android Lollipop 5.0 and above for now! Great news though, because there are to begin, here is a step by step solution to fix Google play store stuck at ‘Waiting for Download’, when trying to download any app. This might be something you have come across in your day-to-day experience with the Google Play Store.

The steps below will allow you to fix google play store waiting download issue:

Solution 1: Clear Data and Cache on Google Play Store App

1) Tap the Apps icon on your Android device’s home screen or in your App Drawer (if you can’t find it then tap and hold an app in the drawer and drag it onto the home screen).

2) Scroll down until you see All , tap it and you will see a list of all your apps.

3) Find the Google Play Store app in this list and tap it.

4) If the app has a green icon , then that means it can be uninstalled from your device so tap on Uninstall . If not, continue to the next step.

5) Tap Storage or App Data depending on which one is available to you (they both do exactly the same thing). To find what storage option to tap, go back up to List view by tapping Home > Menu . Then scroll down until you see the Storage heading. At this point, select either Application Data or Downloaded Files – based upon what is available for your device. Follow these steps again if you happen to be using a device with an SD card.

5) Now you will see all of the Google Play Store’s data that is on your phone, and it may include things like app settings or something similar that we don’t want to delete. So tap Clear Data and then if there is anything else in this list that you don’t need, just clear its cache as well and leave the rest alone (if you can’t find Clear Cache , then go back to the home screen and tap Apps first).

Solution 2: Restart Your Device

The restarting of mobile phones or tablets has always been a classic solution to fix lots of issues for Android users, so why not give it a try? It might solve ‘Google play store stuck at waiting for download’ issue as well.

If restarting your device doesn’t fix the problem, then you might have to go through a bit of a longer process – but don’t worry, it is still fairly easy and soon you will be able to get back to using your device as normal!

Solution 3: Use a Proxy Server on Your Connection Settings

1) Tap the Apps icon on your Android device’s home screen or in your App Drawer (if you can’t find it then tap and hold an app in the drawer and drag it onto the home screen).

2) Scroll down until you see All , tap it and you will see a list of all your apps.

3) Find Google Play Store app in this list and tap it.

4) Tap the 3 dots in the top right-hand corner to access all the Google Play Store’s settings. If you can’t see these, then just tap on your current Google Account at the top and you will be taken to a page where you can select another account (you may need to provide your device PIN or password for this). Then tap Menu > Settings .

5) Next, find Additional Service , this is located towards the bottom of the list. Tap it and make sure that Auto-update apps is turned on (if not, switch it on).

6) Also, turn on Use Proxy Server – again if not already activated – it should be located right next to Additional Service . This way, you can access Google Play Store from any location.

7) Now open the Google Play Store app and it should start working properly – if not, then continue to the next solution.

Solution 4: Completely Reinstall or Format Your Device

If all of these solutions don’t work out for you, then there is one last option that you could try. Unfortunately, it might be a bit more complicated than some of the other steps but it’s worth trying before contacting your device’s manufacturer or retailer! So follow these steps carefully:

1) First off, make sure that your device is fully charged so you can complete this process without any problems.

2) Make sure that you have backed up all important information on your Android device – if possible or desired – because once we get started with this solution then you will lose everything! This includes any text messages, saved games data, etc.

3) Next, go to Settings on your device and then you will need to find Backup & Reset . Then tap Factory Data Reset , which should be located in the second row of this page. You should also see Delete All or Erase Everything near it – but if not just continue with the next step anyway.

4) On this screen you will need to choose Reset Phone (or similar choice). It’ll depend on which version of Android software your phone is running! Just make sure that all personal information will be removed. This includes any information stored in apps’ internal storage area too!

5) Now wait until your phone is powered off then press and hold the Volume Down key, while you press the Power key at the same time. You will then be taken to a screen that asks you to select an option using Volume Down . This is where you need to use the Volume Down key again and navigate down to Wipe Data/Factory Reset via Volume Down . Then press the Power button one more time in order for this option will be highlighted in green!

6) Finally, once selected, all data will be wiped from 4.3 version or lower – that’s why this error is occurring since Google your device’s memory – so make sure not to do this if there are still some important files missing. It could take up to 30 minutes or even longer for this process but it might solve your problem.
